Hey happy weekend! Sometime ago I took part in the Witch Cosmetics Skincare Challenge which you can find all the posts from if you click the witch skincare challenge label in my label bar over there somewhere below -->. The full collection features a Tinted Moisturiser, a Pressed Powder, a Primer and a Redness Relief Moisturiser. I've been using the products relentlessly since I got them and when I say relentlessly I really mean it - i'm worryingly close to hitting pan in the middle of the pressed powder...I can feel it with my brush!
Ever since I got these products i've ditched my foundation in favour for a new, healthier, better option in the tinted moisturiser. If you read my blog you'll have noticed i've been wearing them in all my FOTD's and OOTD posts since January.
The tinted moisturiser comes in three shades, simply 01, 02 and 03. I was given 01 to try and 02 to pass on to my sister, so thought i'd nab a quick swatch before I passed it on. Being that we are sisters n'all that! Hehe.
Initial 'squeeze' from the tube:
Almost blended out:
The 01 is perfect for my skin. It's a little darker than what i'd usually go for but nothing overly noticable, and certainly not near as orange as when I bought the 'lite' Benefit tinted moisturiser. I play up to my paleness though and usually wear much lighter foundation than my skin so this is quite true to my skin colour, if you will. I think the 01 will suit most pale girls, and the 02 and 03 for darker skin tones. The lovely thing about these is, they are so cheap you can literally buy two and it'll be half the price of Benefit's one, for example, and you can blend them to make your shade. Rox from 1000 Heads discovered halfway through our challenge week that she was a perfect blend of 01 and 02 - easy!
It's soft, and blends into the skin easily. It has a really good amount of coverage, actually a surprisingly good amount of coverage, and I don't find it greasy upon application and it doesn't budge throughout the day. The only thing is that I have to apply a liberal amount of my other moisturiser before putting this on because as i've found out, just worn alone has made my cheeks quite dry and flaky, and i don't usually get this at all. Actually this is the first time in my life this has happened. But with a good layer of moisturiser before application this is fine. I do have ridic sensitive skin though, so I do gots to be gentle with it!
The powder comes in only one shade and it is quite pale but it's also quite blendable, I think it would suit a fair amount of fair (hehe) skinned ladies. It's soft and finely milled and applies and sinks into the skin instantly and easily. I love that matte soft skin feel it leaves on the skin and makes my face very kissable (says Del).
This picture is perfect to the shade of the powder ^
When I wear foundation I usually have a big problem with it sliding down my face. Honestly. I wear quite heavily framed glasses and they often slip dwn my nose easily and leave those little glasses frame marks on my nose bridge. With this tinted moisturiser and pressed powder look.... no frame marks, and no sliding. I'm addicted to it. My job is very heavy on movement, and I spend 9 hours a day backwards and forwards lifting, moving, dressing and generally running around like a headless chicken. So I usually dread foundation at work because it just does not last. It's so unpractical for my work. But i've been wearing this combo every single day and I absolutely love it. It doesn't budge! I'd recommend this for great staying power, i think the two together are going to be my summer MUST haves.
It's also really nice and refreshing to give my skin a break from foundation all the time. I want a good amount of coverage but I don't want to wear foundation all the time anymore and through this Witch programme i've learnt that I can keep my skin fresh and healthy and still have great coverage every single day. Del loves the natural look on me better, I look less plastic faced and more natural and clean. I've had comments from my work mates (thankyou Rebekah!) when i've turned up at 8am saying that I look fresh faced and 'pretty' (untrue, but lovely nevertheless). I'm really loving these products and theres only a couple of times i've genuinely loved something a PR company has sent me, and i'll be honest, this isn't something i'd have ever considered purchasing if I wasn't contacted about it. I was surprised, as I wasn't expecting this to change my entire skincare and make up routine but it has, and I reach for both of these products every single day. And you may complain that i'm only raving about it because I was told by their PR, and yes, I am. But that's the joyus thing about being in this blogging 'industry' if you will, because you get introduced to new things you previously didn't know about, and you get the chance to honestly review and share them with others. I'm so glad Witch contacted me, and same as the Aussie stuff, i'm going to be repurchasing almost every single product, because I really do love them!
Here are some photos of me wearing JUST the tinted moisturiser and the pressed powder, i promise there's nothing else on my skin and no photoshopping was done!
token stupid face, ha
I'm really sad to unfortunately be missing the Witch event today, but I'm so excited for the ladies to be receiving and trying the new products and hopefully joining me on a new journey of skindependance!
Big love for Witch, and I was pleasantly surprised to find the products in my local Boots for something like £4 or £5 each product. Re-purchasing will be cheap!
Now, i've not scrapped my foundation entirely, because I love to wear it for a night out. Nothing beats that flawless skin in dark light look. The primer has completely changed the way I wear my foundation and again, no glasses frame marks! I posted on my Facebook that I was loving the primer and based on my reviews two of my girlie mates popped down to Boots and picked theirs up, and i've heard reports from them that they're both loving it and rate it higher than any other primer they've tried. I really hope Witch continue to make more cosmetics, i'd love to see some lip products along the same vain, and maybe some more skincare products.
What do you think of Witch's new cosmetics line? Will you be trying it and ditching your foundation in favour of tinted moisturiser? Or will you be enhancing your foundation with their fab primer? Did you attend the Witch event, cause I really want to see blog posts from you! If you won any of my Witch products in my giveaway link me to any posts or tweets you've said reviewing the products you won!
Big love, Zozo xxxxx
