nicki minaj pink friday fragrance for women

today's listening 19th june; nicki minaj, marilyn monroe (roman reloaded, the re up)

Okay, woah. Zoe in liking Celebrity Fragrance Shocker! This isn't a blog post I ever thought i'd write, but i've actually grown to really like this fragrance and therefore I felt it deserved sharing. Back in March, Nicki Minaj launched her debut fragrance sharing the title of most of her other stuff that she releases - Pink Friday. The launch was a breakfast affair and it really takes something special to get me out of bed for a launch so I didn't make it to the launch event, but the sweet team at Elizabeth Arden sent one over for me anyway, which was very kind of them considering my laziness. I've had it since March and been playing about with it, sometimes wearing it out and sometimes just trying it around the house to see if it can part me away from my usual signature fragrances and recently in the Summer months i've found myself grabbing it before dashing out.

If you look past that quite terrifying bottle, it's actually done Nicki in quite a classy way. The baby pink hair and her name necklace is a cute addition, and I can see a lot of young girls and boys really liking having this on their shelf. It's definitely one of the better done Celebrity fragrances that have come out for a while, I like the whole branding and vibe of the fragrance. It could have been disgustingly tacky but somehow Elizabeth Arden have taken Nicki's tack and done it charmingly. For me as a mid-twenties consumer, it's not something i'd keep out on display but at the same time it's not childish or tween. It doesn't offend me. I do also have to eat some humble pie cos back in the day I reviewed Nicki Minaj's OPI collection and said I didn't like her music - but since then i've liked most things she's released, particularly that song above. Sorry about that Nicki, we're cool now bb.

It only needs a couple spritzes, as it's quite a powerful fragrance. It's quite sweet but not overpoweringly sweet, not like the One Direction fragrance I sniffed last week... it reminds me of the old school Britney fragrances, which consider they're made in the same fragrance house isn't too surprising. I actually still like a lot of the Britney fragrances, so that might be why I like this one too. It's top notes include Starfruit with a base note of Vanilla, so overall it's quite sweet and floral smelling.

It's very girly and playful and i'd liken it to the Juicy Couture or Britney fragrances. It's not beaten my all time favourite (Womanity!) I wore this recently and my boyfriend commented that he liked the way it smelt on me - it must be a winner! Nicki Minaj's fragrance retails at £23.50 from The Perfume Shop. How you diggin' Pink Friday? You into Nicki's music? Are you one of her Barbz?

Love, Zozo

saturday night makeup look

today's listening 15th june; klaxons, atlantis to interzone (crystal castles remix)

Nothing makes me feel more ready for a night out than knowing my makeup feels pretty. Saturday night makeup is a big deal for me, and when you're going out you want to feel like you're confident in what you wear, irregardless of whether you're popping to your second home for a comfortable drink or two, or heading out to the club for a party.

This is my Saturday night look this week and it's pretty simple to do, but might take a little time if you wanna keep layering up the eyeshadow - it really depends how far you wanna take the drama. So I used one of my favourite Estee Lauder palettes which is called Film Noir and it retails at £35. I've had this palette for a year or so and it's the one that I *always* reach for to take with me because it's just so easy to do a soft grey smokey eye using it. My base in this look is by MAC and it's called Genuine Treasure, it was a limited edition one that I didn't really rate much at the time and still don't much now, but it does make a soft glittery base for this kind of look, so I grabbed it for this. I then finished off my eyes using Benefit's They're Real mascara and Urban Decay's 24/7 eyeliner in Gunmetal on the inner waterline.

My face has Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation mixed with Illamasqua Liquid Foundation so it suits my skintone and covers nicely but without being too thick. I like this Bourjois foundation but it can be a smidgeon too dark sometimes so mixing it with the paler Illamasqua one helps. My blusher is Estee Lauder Powder Gelee in Tease which is genuinely my favourite blusher of all time. No joke. It's beautiful! My eyebrows are the shade Faint from the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette and my lips are MAC Hue, nice and nude. This look is perfect for a Saturday night, and it's how i'm about to go out, right now! What do you rock on a Saturday night?

Love, Zozo
